Moving Supplies
Customers will purchase a startup kit from College Movers, Inc. Each kit contains six (6) boxes, one (1) roll of tape, and one (1) black sharpie. Each box is 24" x 18" x 16". If customers need additional boxes, they can purchase additional kits, or get additional boxes on their own. College Movers is not responsible to supply boxes for the move to and/or from school. Each kit can be picked up (only available for local customers), or be shipped to the customer for an additional fee.
Shipping
College Movers has teamed up with UPS to provide to utmost highest level of service. Once the boxes are packed, each customer will go back to www.movetoschool.com, and log into their account. Customer will enter the weight of each box as well as the dimensions of any box(es) that are not purchased from College Movers. The customer agrees to enter the correct weight and dimensions of all boxes. Customer also understands that any additional charges due to incorrect data (weight, dimensions, or amount of boxes) will result in additional charges once the boxes are picked up. Customer also agrees to print and affix a separate UPS label for each individual box. Any duplicated labels may result in additional charges and/or the box returned, and therefore, delaying the delivery process. Any boxes returned from the misuse of the UPS system by using duplicated labels, incorrect address, or incorrect weight and/or dimensions will be charged a return fee of $10.00 per box plus any additional shipping charges to return and resend the box. College Movers, Inc. will not be held liable for items shipped to an incorrect address due to incorrect labeled items. College Movers, Inc. will not be held liable for any late timing for pick-up or delivery if the result of a third-party trucking provider (such as UPS or Penske). College Movers, Inc. reserves the right to change, add, or cancel dates of pick-up and/or delivery at each school. If the customer is not present for pick-up or delivery, College Movers, Inc. reserves the right to hold or leave items. If items are to be held, the customer will be responsible for the picking up of such items. The customer will be subject to a service charge of 15% of the order amount per day for any items held overnight.
College Movers uses UPS as their third party carrier. Any information such as address, dimensions, or weight will be the sole responsibility of the customer. Any additional fees from entering incorrect information will be charged accordingly back to the customer. Customer agrees to affix only legitimate labels printed from website for every package being shipped. If the customer uses the same label more then once, the customer will be charged for the correct amount of boxes shipped according to each box’s proper weight and/or dimension. Any boxes returned due to incorrect address, dimensions, weight, or from using a duplicated label will be charged $20 per box plus all shipping charges for return and reshipping back to school or home.
Customer agrees that they cannot pack and/or store any liquid items. Customer will be liable for any damage to their own items, as well as other customer’s items, caused by storing and/or packing liquids, hazardous materials, illegal materials, and firearms. College Movers, Inc. reserves the right to inspect any items in question before storing or shipping.
Coverage
If using a third party carrier for shipping (such as UPS), College Movers, Inc. will not be he held responsible for any damaged boxes during transportation. If using a third party carrier (such as UPS), each box will be covered up to $100. Additional insurance may be purchased through College Movers, Inc. If there is no visible damage to the box, College Movers and its shipper(s) will not be held liable, since damage could have occurred before (or during) packing. College Movers, Inc. will inspect all of the boxes received before and after delivery. We ask that any large items (which may be, but not limited to, mini-refrigerators, microwaves, computers, televisions, stereos, etc.) be packaged in their original packaging which is specifically suited for shipping.
Once items have been delivered in their packaged material, normal wear and tear expected, College Movers, Inc. will not be held liable for any damaged or missing items.
College Movers, Inc. will not be held liable for damage due to poor packing.
The following items will not be covered:
- Cash
- Jewelry
- Any items in undamaged packages, normal wear and tear excepted
- Poorly packed items or items shipped without any packaging whatsoever
- Extremely fragile items (these should be personally transported by the customer)
- Items damaged by natural disasters
In the case of damaged materials with UPS as the carrier, please consult with the UPS website (www.ups.com) for specific liability coverage. College Movers will do everything they can to assist with the claim process with UPS, but the claim and proof of claim is the sole responsibility of the customer to file.
Payments, Cancellations, Late Sign-Up, and Refunds
College Movers, Inc. reserves the right to charge the customer’s credit card for any items and/or services requested. Payment must be made immediately. College Movers accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. Vendors and/or contractors hired by College Movers, Inc. will not accept any money for payment of services and/or products. Any payment given to a vendor and/or contractor hired by College Movers, Inc. will be considered gratuity.
College Movers, Inc. will accept cancellations. Any cancellations made prior to UPS pickup will be credited back to the customers credit card minus a 15% cancellation fee. There are no returns or refunds for startup kits.
